Save Your Texts — Text Evidence Collector is provided by CPW Studio Co. It is designed to process message records locally on the user’s Android device.
Information processed
Depending on the version and features the user chooses, the app may process:
- standard SMS and MMS messages and available attachments;
- phone numbers and, when the user allows it, locally stored contact names;
- Google Voice text-message files and attachments selected from a Google Takeout archive;
- identity, phone, email, case-reference, and note fields entered by the user;
- basic device and app-version details written into a user-created evidence manifest; and
- cryptographic fingerprints used to verify source and export files.
How information is used
Information is used only to display selectable conversations and create the record package requested by the user. Save Your Texts does not provide messaging, advertising, profiling, analytics, or account services.
Collection, sharing, and network access
The app does not collect or transmit message content or personal information to CPW Studio Co. It declares no Android internet permission and contains no advertising or analytics SDK. Data leaves the app only when the user saves, uploads, or shares an export through Android, or explicitly enables automatic copying to a folder the user selected. A storage provider such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive handles its own sign-in and transfer. Save Your Texts never receives the provider password.
Storage and retention
Imported records, copied attachments, and saved packages are stored in app-private device storage. Android cloud backup is disabled for this data. Users can delete working imports, individual packages, or all saved packages inside the app. Optional cleanup is off by default and removes the app copy only after every configured copy reports success. Copies saved outside the app remain under the user’s control.
Permissions
- Read SMS: used in the direct-scan edition only for a user-initiated archive or export.
- Read Contacts: optional, and used only to label phone numbers with local contact names.
- Import-only edition: requests neither SMS nor Contacts access.
The app does not request permission to send messages, receive new messages, place calls, access the microphone, track location, or use the internet.
Security
The app uses private app storage, Android’s secure document picker, disabled device backup, and SHA-256 verification values. No storage method is absolutely secure. Users should protect their phone, cloud accounts, and exported evidence files.
Children’s privacy
Save Your Texts is a general-purpose records utility and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not send user data to CPW Studio Co.
